My mind keeps circling back to the Ollafur Eliasson exhibit I saw at the SFMOMA. Sparse and elegant, the works allowed me to clear my mind of the over-stimulation of the previous week's travel preparations. I often crave medative works, and this collection provided me a few minutes of reflection and space.

one of my favorite small clothing lines is english line brennan & burch. i've been watching them for a few seasons, and i think their take on whimsical screenprinting is what makes them so appealing. strange bee-women, electric patterns, unibomber-esque mustached men... i love it all. they absolutely love sweatpants + sweatshirts, making their whole line quite wearable for saturday night dancing or sunday morning lounging.

i've been thinking about subjective geometric representation. especially with physical things. things get convoluted, turned around, and recreated within mental perception. physical space within mindspace is something i am fascinated by, especially in dreams.

so i always am drawn to things that jar the mind, such as optical illusions and geographical art. ie: jules de balincourt's recent pieces:

not only is it clearly political, it is tricky in cognition/perception. i saw his work in nyc this summer and loved it.
